Hi, I'm Frank.
I’m a MG author seeking representation for Finisher, a 50k-word soccer novel about having to start from the bottom—all over again.
Youth soccer star Rosie Lin makes the team—she’s the only 6th grader on Memorial’s top-ranked middle school team in San Francisco. But she finds herself benched in games against stronger, faster 7th and 8th graders. On top of that, she has to manage an early-semester falling-out with friends while also navigating physics class, which she absolutely dreads. She soon meets her new physics partner, Simi Khan a new kid from India, who knows nothing about soccer but excels in asking the right questions—about physics and life.
Rosie misses competing in the games, but receiving more playing time requires winning over a demanding coach and an intimidating team captain. With their championship run against elite opponents already underway, Rosie must take that first step to rediscovering her identity as a player and person—so that she’s ready when both her teammates and her friends need her most.
This is a book I wish existed on the shelves for my daughters and others alike, sharing lessons I’ve learned as an engineer, tech entrepreneur, and a Brown belt in jiu jitsu. Previously, I'm the co-founder behind Bevi, a smart water machine that customizes flavored and sparkling water on demand.
Please get in touch if you're a MG literary agent interested in representing Finisher.
